things to do at the attractions that surround
us.

Longville Turtle Races: Wednesdays at
2:00, June through August, in the turtle
racing capital of the world.

Take a Plane Ride: You think lakes
country
is gorgeous by road? You should try it
through the air! John will pick you up
at our dock and take you and your family for
a ride in his "Beaver" float plane.
Absolutely breath-taking views!

Rice Lake northern fishing. May until
middle of June. Private landing just five
minutes away. Great action and lots of fun!
- Hike the
Chippewa National Forest with trail
access locations near both
Remer and
Longville.
- Leech Lake launch service: a day of
walleye fishing with none of the work.

Deep Portage Reserve: 45 minutes away.
Interpretive center, learning center, hiking
trails, and family activities. No charge.

Canoe the Boy River. Take either a three
hour or six your ride down the scenic Boy
River. Run some minor rapids, stop and
picnic in the cedar-lined stop spot. Ask in
office for details. May & June only.

Moose River Trail fire tower: Just 10
minutes down Route 6. Climb to the top for a
new perspective of the woods and lakes.

Golf: Ridgewood.
18 hole championship
plus 9 hole par three. Ten minutes toward
Longville on County 7.

Golf: Chippewa National: first nine hole
course in the state. High greens and narrow
fairways - a challenging and beautiful
course. North of Longville, west on 200.

Moon Dance Ranch:
Moondance Events throughout the summer
including Moondance Jam. Just 35 minutes toward
Walker.

Groomed
snowmobile trails everywhere.

Guided musky fishing:
Have yourself a
thrill. Everything is provided that you
need. Prices vary. Dan will find the
fish for you.

Croft mine tour: 40 minutes down Route
6. Very interesting tour of a Taconic mine.
- Gifts, Shopping. Great selections in
Remer, Longville, and Walker.

Blandin Paper Mill tour: 40 minutes to Grand
Rapids. Adults and older children will find
this a fascinating tour.
- Antiques: 40 minutes to Crosby’s main
street where you will find a dozen stores to
shop in.

Garage sales and auctions: See local
paper, Pine Cone Press, for directions

Forest History Center: just 30 minutes
toward Grand Rapids for a day of family fun
and learning.

Judy Garland Museum -
40 minutes to Grand Rapids.
